Transportation and Infrastructure

Utah is growing rapidly. Utah County alone is on pace to double its population within 20 years. We will need new highways, wider roads, and innovative transit solutions. We must be planning for the future of the State.

Pleasant Grove is similar to other cities across the state struggling with maintenance costs for existing roads. Local road fees are a part of the solution, but we also need resources and taxes from the state to be allocated to strengthen our local communities.

Public transit is a wonderful solution to not only transportation and infrastructure issues but also improving air quality. We need to continue to reform the UTA so we can trust those managing the system to encourage growth and usage in the busiest areas of the state.

We also need to ensure that our digital infrastructure is up-to-date with the latest technologies. Allowing for easier telecommuting will help alleviate many of the transportation and environment issues we will continue to face as our economy expands and communities grow.

These are all tough issues with no one-size-fits-all solutions. I want to collaborate with the best minds in the state, politically and otherwise, to sustain and improve our economy, infrastructure, education systems, and environment now and for the future.
